Pancakes and a side of Easter eggs were the breakfast of choice at the 35th annual pancakes for peace in Chico this weekend.
The annual breakfast takes place every Easter morning and is one of the biggest fundraisers for the Chico peace and justice center at the card center on Vallombrosa.
Bobbi Tryton, one of the event’s organizers, said they have been delighted to see how the pancake feast has turned into a Chico tradition over the years.
“Well each year we think about it and judge how much to bring and what to do,” she said. “We do the best we can for publicizing. It's pretty remarkable how people come and generations come and generations keep coming.”
Children were also treated to an Easter egg hunt, which had hundreds of eggs waiting to be found in addition -- there was a silent auction.
Organizers say more than 500 people enjoyed homemade pancakes.
