'Chico Breaks the Record' extending concert, volunteers needed

The "Chico Breaks the Record" concert has already set a record for the world's longest concert at the Tackle Box in Chico, but organizers are hoping to put the record out of reach, and ensure a power outage earlier this month doesn't keep Chico out of the record books.

The concert, which began April 1, is breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest-running multi-artist concert. The old record of 15 days, 12 hours and 11 minutes, has now been broken, but there is concern that Guinness may not count part of the concert because of a power outage on April 6.

The power outage shut down all of the recording mechanisms, therefore leaving the concert undocumented for a short stretch. Concert organizers are now calling on volunteers to go five more days, ensuring Chico's place in the history books.

If you are interested in volunteering you can learn more in this video posted to the ‘Chico Breaks the Record' Facebook page, and if you'd like to watch from home live streaming is available here.
