The Tackle Box in Chico is hoping host the world's longest concert next month, but they're going to need the communities to help to do it.

The Tackle Box is hoping to set the Guinness World Record for longest multi-artist concert, while showcasing local talent and bringing national attention to Chico.

The concert will start April 1st and hopefully go an entire month, 720 hours in all. The current record is 15 days and 12 hours, and if the Tackle Box is successful the concert will double the current record.

The rules state that there can be less than 25 seconds between songs, and 5 minutes allowed between sets, this event is intended to be a genuine marathon of local talent, as well as a few select performances from out-of-town acts.

Volunteers are needed though, because the Tackle Box needs a minimum of 10 people in the crowd at all times. They are working on putting together a call list of 30 to 40 volunteers that won't mind being phoned at 3 a.m.

Anyone interested in volunteering can call the Tackle Box at (530) 345-7499.
