Chico attorney, undocumented immigrant says Obama's order will stand

A Chico man who made national headlines last year when the state Supreme Court ruled he could practice law despite his undocumented status says Monday's Federal Court decision out of Texas only delays the inevitable.

Attorney Sergio Garcia told Action News Now that he firmly believes the president's executive order is well within his powers. He also said he thinks the judge's decision was based on politics rather than constitutional law.

Garcia, now 37, was brought into California when he was 17-months-old, but returned to Mexico for several years before coming back to California at age 17.

In 2009 Garcia earned a law degree and then last year a land-mark court decision allowed him to obtain a law license in California.
