Chico Anti-bully campaign

Feb 26, 2014 6:10 PM

Chico State University teamed up with Marsh Jr. High School to combat bullying today. Students from the College of Business are taking part in H.E.R.O. Day, encouraging students to "Be the ONE: Stand Up To Bullying!"

The college business students assisted in various activities that took part during the lunch hour at Marsh. The goal is to create acceptance, awareness, and appreciation for one another.

Today's event at Marsh Jr. High is in conjunction with National Pink Shirt Day. Students were encouraged to wear pink to symbolize they will not tolerate bullying anywhere. The idea of the pink shirt comes from two Nova Scotia high school students who courageously showed support for a fellow student who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. Local elementary schools in Chico also took part in National Pink Shirt Day today.
