COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -The University of Missouri system plans to begin several initiatives over the next three months that is says are aimed at improving the racial atmosphere on its four campuses and cultivating diversity and inclusion.

Yesterday, the president of the university system, Tom Wolfe, resigned following protests by students who said he was unresponsive to racial slurs and other incidents.

The chancellor of the Columbia campus says he'll step down at the end of the year.
