The Chico Veteran's Day committee is inviting all veterans and community members to take part in the Veteran's Day Observance at the Chico Elk's Lodge on Wednesday, November 11th.

Originally called "Armistice Day", Veteran's day is about celebrating and recognizing all of those who have served in America's Armed Forces.

This year's program in Chico will focus on the Korean War, with speeches, an honor guard and a performance by the Chico Community Band. Members of the Lone Pine 4H club will hand out miniature flags and members of Chico Boyscout Troop #423 will conduct a Flag Retirement Ceremony.

The Band will begin playing at 10:30 a.m., with the official program starting at 11:11 a.m.

A free lunch of hot dogs and beans will be provided afterward.

The Elk's Lodge is located at 1705 Manzanita Avenue, in Chico.
