Cats come up short in Capital City Clash, finish 2nd in CCAA

The Chico State Wildcats couldn't snatch up a regular season California Collegiate Athletic Association championship Sunday at the Capital City Clash at Raley Field, home of the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats.

The Wildcats fell to Sonoma State, 10-7.

Chico State ends the regular season with a record of 37-11 and 29-10 in the CCAA.

The Wildcats will open the CCAA Championship Tournament as the No. 2 seed against UC San Diego Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton.
