The Court Appointed Special Advocate program that serves foster children in several Northstate counties is hoping to raise $24,000 in 24 hours on Friday, April 24th.
It's the opportunity for everyone to help change a child's world in just 24 hours.
CASA is administered through Northern Valley Catholic Social Service, and CASA volunteers provide a voice for children in foster care. Children who find themselves in the foster care and court system through no fault of their own. CASA volunteers will follow a child through the hurdles of determining what is best for them when it comes to placement.
CASA can only accomodate as many volunteers as it can afford to train (training is extensive), support and monitor.
The 24K in 24 hours campaign begins and midnight Friday and ends at Midnight Saturday. To donate, simply phone the call center with your pledge at 1-800-846-1451 or you can pledge online at nvcss.org. That's also where you can find out more about the program.
