The Passages Caregiver Support Program is offering a free conference to support Caregivers this week.
It takes place on Thursday April 10th, from 9 – 11:30 p.m. at the Terry Ashe Recreation Center in Paradise.
If you provide support, attend doctor’s visits, afford financial assistance, help organize, or are responsible for helping another in day to day activities, you are a caregiver. Unfortunately, caregivers can commonly experience symptoms that mirror depression, anxiety, and trauma as they work to provide the best care possible for with those they care for.
According to Passages, too often guilt, burnout, and responsibility overload become mainstays of the caregiver experience.
Thursdays conference will provide tips, networking information, support, and help promote healthy caregiving practices .
The key note speaker for the event is Dr. Melissa “Mo” Boeger, a nationally recognized presenter and an expert in helping people understand and successfully negotiate the caregiver process.
The Passages Connections Program, and the Butte county Department of Behavioral Health are also participating in the event. Continuing Education Units are available for attending professionals. Pre-registration is encouraged as space is limited. More information is available at www.PassagesCenter.org or by calling Passages at (530) 898-5923.
