The Chico Area Recreation and Park District is asking for community input on a potential aquatics center.
In August, CARD’s board of directors authorized the spending of $50,000 in consulting work to measure the feasibility of an aquatics center.
On Wednesday October 28, CARD will host an open house at 7 p.m. at the CARD Center on Vallombrosa Avenue. Chico residents are encouraged to attend and share what they’d like to see in a potential aquatics facility.
As Chico’s existing public facilities continue to show their age, CARD has been mulling the idea of a new aquatic center, however the center is expected to cost more than $2 million and where that money would come from remains up in the air.
