A police canine can be credited with taking down a wanted Redding man yesterday.
36-year-old Manuel Perez III was wanted for robbery, assault with great bodily injury and spousal assault.
Redding Police responded to the 6000 of Westside Road and upon arriving, Perez ran out the back door of the property.
He was met by an officer and a police canine, but kept running.
The canine pursued, caught him, and Perez fought back until the human officers were able to complete the arrest.
Manuel was booked into the Shasta County Jail and in addition to the wanted charges, is being charged with resisting arrest.
