A candlelight vigil scheduled for Monday evening will honor the life of Kristina Chesterman, a year after she was struck and killed while biking home from the Chico State Library.

Chesterman, a Chico State nursing student, was riding her bike home on Nord Avenue September 22, 2013 when she was stuck and killed by a drunk driver.

Kristina's family was forced to make the decision to take her off life support and donate her organs just days later. Chesterman was only 21-years-old.

At 7 p.m. people are invited to gather at the Chico State library for a candlelight vigil, from the library everyone will walk to the Bridge on Nord Avenue. Battery operated lights will be provided for those making the walk.

Riley Hoover, the drunk driver who hit Chesterman, was sentenced to seven years in prison last month after he pleaded guilty to felony DUI with injury, and felony hit-and-run.
