Candidate forums set for Butte County Supervisor; U.S. Rep Dist. 1 Races

With the June 7 primaries just eight weeks away, the League of Women Voters is hosting four candidate forums for candidates in separate Butte County races, giving local voters a chance to hear directly about why each candidate thinks they deserve their votes.

The scheduled forums are:

  • April 27 - County Supervisor District 4, with incumbent Steve Lambert and candidate Mark Jensen; 6:30 p.m., Gridley Library, 299 Spruce St.
  • April 28 - County Supervisor District 1, with incumbent Bill Connelly, and candidates J.R. Stoker and Thomas Warner; 6:30 p.m., Centennial Cultural Center, 1931 Arlin Rhine Drive in Oroville
  • May 2 - County Supervisor District 5, with incumbent Doug Teeter and candidates Maurice Huffman, Diana Wright and Dwight Grumbles; 6:30 p.m., Paradise Town Hall, 5555 the Skyway in Paradise
  • May 3 - U.S. Representative District 1, with candidates Gregory Cheadle (R), Jeff Gerlach (no party affiliation), Joe Montes (R), Gary Allen Oxley (R), Jim Reed (D) and David Peterson. Incumbent Doug LaMalfa (R) has declined; 6:30 p.m., Harlen Adams Theater at Chico State University.

The League of Woman Voters is a non-partisan organization.
