Caltrans Employees Search for Missing Co-Worker

Caltrans District 2 employees are donating personal leave time to participate in the search for missing coworker 45-year-old Patrick McCarthy, according to a Caltrans press release.

McCarthy is a Caltrans Equipment Operator who works out of the Susanville facility. McCarthy reportedly called in sick to work on June 3, and his neighbor saw his truck that same afternoon in McCarthy’s hometown of Doyle, CA. McCarthy has not been seen or heard from since.

McCarthy’s family has filed a missing person’s report with the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office. He is described as a white male, 6’2” tall, and 215 lbs. McCarthy has brown, short hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen driving a Maroon 2004 extended Cab Ford Ranger with a California License plate #82362B1.

Authorities and Caltrans employees have been searching for McCarthy in the Susanville, Portola, Doyle, Taylorsville, Beckwourth, and Goose Lake areas. If you have any information regarding McCarthy’s whereabouts, please contact the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 257-6121.
