North State Assemblyman Dan Logue honored the accomplishments of California Chrome in his pursuit of the world renowned Triple Crown on the Assembly Floor Thursday.

California Chrome made history and captured the nation's hearts earlier this year when he won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness tournaments and fell just short of the prestigious Triple Crown.

"This is a tremendous horse and an inspiration to California," said Logue. "California Chrome has forever changed the way the world will look at California when it comes to horse raising. I am thankful that I had the privilege of honoring such an amazing horse on the Assembly Floor today. I am proud to stand by Perry and Denise Martin, who are from my district in Yuba City and took a chance on this talented horse."

California Chrome became the first California born horse to win the Kentucky Derby since 1962 and the first to win the Preakness since 1986.
