For the second straight week, the threat of rain is forcing cancellation of the planned weekend closure of the southbound State Highway 99 freeway exit to East 8th and East 9th streets (State Highway 32) in Chico, Caltrans announced today. The 58-hour closure is now scheduled for the following weekend, starting at approximately 9 p.m. Friday, October 4.
The construction is part of a $37.9 million project by Caltrans and the Butte County Association of Governments to construct new auxiliary lanes and sound walls on Highway 99 between East 1st Avenue and the Highway 32 junction. Completion is expected in 2014.
Caltrans will issue updates on Twitter @D3PIO and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict 3.
