Cal Fire responding to structure fire in Paradise

(UPDATE) 6:07 p.m.- Cal Fire officials have confirmed the structure which caught fire on the 5400 block of Foster Road in Paradise is a chicken coop.

Firefighters have contained the fire to the coop and prevented it from spreading to any structures or vegetation.

It is unknown at this time if any chickens were harmed or killed, but no persons were reported to be injured.

Cal Fire stated the owners of the home were not present at the time they arrived to the fire.

Cal Fire did confirm power lines remain down in the area and PG&E crews are on their way to repair the lines.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Butte County Cal Fire is currently responding to reports of a structure fire on the 5400 block of Foster Road in Paradise this evening.

The fire was reported just before 5:15 p.m.

We have yet to confirm if the structure is a home or outbuilding but initial reports indicate heavy smoke is coming out of the structure.

Initial reports also indicate power lines are down in the area.
