Cal Fire has contained a small number of wood chip fires burning at the Old Durham Wood Products Facility off of the Oro-Chico Highway this afternoon. The fires, which were first reported at 11:10 a.m., have been contained to the property at one acre.

Cal Fire currently has five engines, three water tenders and two bulldozers at the scene. The smoke, which has been described by Cal Fire officials as “dense and light in color”, is currently being blown to the south. Mary Anne Aldrich, Cal Fire Public Information Officer, stated the fire has been contained but crews are still working to extinguish some of the remaining flames smoldering in the wood chip piles. The cause of the fires is being investigated.
