The University of California, Berkeley marching band stopped by Pleasant Valley High School Friday to talk about playing music in college, and of course the schools teamed up for some tunes.
This is the third year the band has stopped at PV during a road trip to Oregon. The Bears football team will face the Oregon Ducks in Eugene on Saturday night.
Pleasant Valley Band Director Ryan Heimlich graduated from Berkeley and has been the driving force in making the visits happen. “The students are more excited about school and music when they play with these college kids,” he said.
Last year PV students got the chance to perform in Berkeley during a football game halftime show.
Heimlich says the students look forward to this day every year and it gets them excited for college.
