The Butte College football team learned its postseason fate Sunday, a first-round matchup against City College of San Francisco (9-1) at 1 p.m. Saturday in the San Francisco Community College Bowl.

The game also serves as one of the Nor Cal regional semifinals, with the winner advancing to the NorCal state title game to play either College of San Mateo or Chabot College.

Butte (6-4) dropped its final regular-season game of the year Saturday to College of the Siskiyous 20-19 Saturday in Weed. The loss snapped the Roadrunners' six-game win streak and any chance they had of hosting a first-round playoff game.

But, the highlight of the season came the week before when Butte defeated American River College 27-24 by way of a 65-yard hail mary from Taylor King to Miles Fishback in the final seconds. The victory propelled Butte to the NorCal League title, an amazing feat for a squad that began the year 0-3.

Now a postseason game awaits against a heavy favorite at their house.
