Butte College softball player Halie Hall is walking with a big smile these days after accepting a partial athletic and academic scholarship to Culver-Stockton college, an NAIA school, in Canton, Missouri.
The third baseman and catcher is in the midst of her second season on the Butte softball team, but she also dedicates her time to Butte's sports medicine and athletic training department.
Hall is a dual program participant, a true student-athlete, and her hard work is paying off.
We caught up with the Gridley native who says she's excited to not only play the game she loves at the next level, but to pursue an education in the career she covets as well.
"I love sports, I love being around athletes, I just kind've fell into it and being here at Butte College, we have a great program and it's helped develop me as a student-athlete, a student athletic-trainer and it will help me further my career goals," said Hall.
"She's really responsible, she's self-motivated, they're going to get somebody who's going to be able to step in and be a leader both on the field and off the field," said Butte softball coach Shanna Vela.
Congratulations to Halie Hall!
