Butte knocks off state's No. 1 ranked American River, 31-28

What a day for the Butte Roadrunners!

Head Coach Jeff Jordan's squad scored its biggest win of the season, defeating state ranked No. 1 American River College, 31-28 in Sacramento.

Butte (7-2, 4-0) picks up their sixth straight win, but more importantly clinches a share of the Nor Cal League title and one of the four playoff spots in the newly realigned Northern California Football Conference.

Butte forced six turnovers, including Damariay Drew's interception return for a touchdown.

Special teams also stepped up as Marvel Harris returned a kick 95 yards for a score.

Butte wraps up the regular season next Saturday against Siskiyous at 1 p.m. at Cowan Stadium.
