Butte football team captures state title

The Butte College football team knocked off Fullerton 28-13 to win the California Community College Athletic Association title for the second time in five years.

Roadrunners quarterback Tommy Stuart won the game's MVP honor by throwing for 203 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Butte's tight end duo of Richard Murphy and Bo Brummel combined to catch 9 passes for 198 yards and 3 scores.

The Roadrunners defense forced six turnovers, capped off by London Muse's 51-yard interception return for a touchdown in the game's final minute that sealed the game for the Roadrunners.
