This week 20 Butte County teens are stepping out of their comfort zone to learn skills that can save lives. Fire and Safety Training Camp is exposing teens to a day in the life of a Fire Fighter, Police Officer, Paramedic and Rescuer. FAST camp is open to Butte County teens ages 16-19.

Repelling down a 4-story structure, climbing hundred foot ladders and learning how to use a chainsaw were just part of today's activities. While this may not be your everyday summer camp, these campers are getting a once in a lifetime experience.

Thanks to the donations of local businesses and public safety organizations, FAST camp is in its sixth year running. The camps goal: to empower teens with confidence and life saving skills.
