**UPDATE: 12:00 AM: Butte County Sheriff's Office confirms the five missing teens were found safe and sound with their vehicles. They were found sometime around 11 pm Friday night.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that at least 5 kids have been missing since 8:30 last night. We first received a call from a worried mother, whose 15-year-old daughter is among those missing tonight. Butte County Sheriff Sergeant Steve Collins confirmed that the group had traveled to the Spring Valley area, to go "mudding." But since the teens headed into the mountains, at least a foot of snow has fallen and continues to fall tonight. Search and rescue is heading toward the area at this hour, using three snow rescue vehicles. They are asking friends and family members who are thinking about going to help look for the kids not to do. They say it's unsafe and could hinder search and rescue efforts by creating tracks in the snow that could divert them away from where the kids are believed to be.
