Butte County firefighters have a handle on a vegetation fire that broke out in the Browns Ravine area, east of Inskip and Stirling City Monday afternoon.
The fire was spotted around 2:30 p.m. and burned about half an acre of timber near Browns Ravine Road.
A total of 87 firefighters, nine engines and three helicopters were able to stop forward progress around 3:45 p.m. and Cal Fire has since transitioned command to Lassen National Forest firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
