Tod Kimmelshue, a nut farmer from Durham, was awarded the 2014 Butte County Farm Bureau Member of the Year award during an annual dinner at Chico State Thursday.
Kimmelshue was recognized at the sold out dinner for his continuous support and leadership in the agriculture community. Kimmelushe said “I was surprised and honored to receive the Butte County Farm Bureau member of the year award. Agriculture and the Farm Bureau mean so much to me and to receive an award from our industry and the Farm Bureau was indeed humbling.”
Kimmelshue served on the Butte County Farm Bureau board of directors for several years. During his tenure as a director, he has been very active in local issues and is currently chair of the Butte County Farm Bureau Land Use Committee.
“When considering who to recognize as member of the year, Tod was the clear choice for us” said Butte County Farm Bureau President, Irv Leen. “He is a true leader in the community and his countless hours and dedication deserved recognition.’’
Kimmelshue is also Vice President of Golden State Farm Credit where he has helped the agriculture community for 30 years.
