Officials say two commercial marijuana grows in Butte County have been busted after a search warrant was served Thursday morning.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Unit hiked to a marijuana grow that was spotted June 20, about 1.5 miles from Highway 70 near Hibbard Creek.

Authorities say the growers were diverting water from Hibbard Creek to grow nearly 5,000 pot plants. There were also several camp sites found, but none of the growers were located.

While authorities were eradicating the Hibbard Creek grow they uncovered a large grow in the Kister Ridge area of the Highway 70 canyon.

In addition to the 4,231 plants, several pounds of drying marijuana was found across the campsite.

An extensive cleanup is scheduled for next month.
