The Butte County District Attorney’s Office is working with the City of Chico to bring back a Social Accountability Program. It's intended for those arrested for public intoxication on special event days like Halloween and St. Patrick's Day. They would have to perform public service on the following special event day. District Attorney Mike Ramsey met with city officials earlier this week about developing a budget for the program. It would also apply to offenders who live out of the area. Ramsey says the program has an extremely high chance of making a comeback.
