Butte County business helping local FFA, 4-H members

One Butte County business is doing what it can to help local 4-H and FFA members raise their animals by offering free hay.

Sohnrey Family Foods has around 2,400 bales of patron beardless wheat hay to donate.

They have set the limit to 240 members to receive hay so everyone gets at least 10 bales.

Derek Sohnrey of Family Foods says he wants to make this available to all members in Butte County and help out as many people as he can.

Sohnrey says in order to participate, 4-H and FFA members need to register by December 21 by stopping by Sohnrey Family Foods, located at 41 Skillin Lane, which is off highway 99 just south of Cycleland Speedway.

You can stop by during the Hours of 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays.

You can also call 871-1975 for more details and to register

4-H and FFA leaders will be required to help schedule and pick up the hay.
