Residents in Butte County will no longer be able to use electronic cigarettes in the workplace, or enclosed public spaces.
The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to pass the new rules, which will apply only to the unincorporated areas of Butte County.
Cities like Chico, Oroville, and Paradise have already updated their smoking regulations to include e-cigarettes.
Earlier this year, Shasta County also passed a ban on e-cigarettes similar to the Butte County ordinance.
A violation in Shasta County can cost up to $100.
