Over the past seven days a Butte County DUI enforcement campaign has resulted in 27 arrests.
The Avoid the 8 campaign, named after the eight county law enforcement agencies participating in the crackdown, is in the midst of a summer/Labor Day enforcement effort.
From 12:01 a.m. Friday August 15 through midnight Thursday, 27 people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in Butte County. Last year 18 people were arrested during the same period.
Officials say extra DUI patrols will be deployed in Gridley this weekend.
