Officials say two commercial marijuana grows in Oroville have been busted after drug agents served a series of warrants Monday.
The Butte County Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Unit served a search warrant at three adjoining parcels on Potters Ravine Drive in Oroville and uncovered two unconnected commercial grows.
One of the operations consisted of four greenhouses and two separate outdoor growing areas. Three of the greenhouses contained flowering marijuana plants, while the fourth had some smaller plants. A total of 758 marijuana plants were seized and eradicated and two men, Ruben Aguilera, 20, of Riverside and Ruben Medina-Garcia, 20, of Riverside were taken into custody.
The second operation led to the seizure of 338 plants spread across seven greenhouses and one outdoor growing area. Jeanne Proteau, 68, of Mendocino; Myomi Hammond, 42, of Mendocino and Anthony Hammond 33, of Mendocino were arrested at the grow site.
All five of the suspects arrested have been booked into the Butte County Jail on suspicion of marijuana cultivation and suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale.
