Residents living in the community of Bangor may be eligible for property tax relief after the Swedes fire ripped through the area last week.
The fire which started on July 27th burned about 400 acres in the Swedes Flat area in Bangor.
According to Cal Fire, the wildfire was fully contained on Monday and burned two homes and 14 outbuildings. Several residents were evacuated from their homes but were able to return last Friday.
The Butte County Assessor’s office is offering disaster relief applications for residents who suffered property damage from the fire.
A claim must be filed with the Assessor’s office to initiate the process.
