PG&E presented Butte College with nearly $38,000 today to enhance heat ventilation and air condition controls that the college will now be able to control at the zone level.

Over the past year the campus has implemented a building automation system to reduce energy costs. This upgrade will save the school more than $30,000 per year.

Butte College President Dr. Kimberly Perry said "One of Butte College's core values is sustainability and it is really important to leave our future generations with a greener more healthy planet".

Butte College is now 90 percent energy efficient and was recently ranked 25th in the nation on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) National Top 100 list of the largest green power users.
