The president of Butte Community College has announced she's moving on after accepting an offer to become the president of technical school in Washington.
Dr. Kimberly Perry has presided over Butte College since 2011, but has decided to leave for the same position with Bellingham Technical College in Bellingham, Washington, which is about 90 miles north of Seattle.
A news release announcing Perry's departure was issued Monday and said that while the Butte College trustees are sad to see her leave, they wish her the best in her new adventure.
The board is working on developing the strategy for choosing a replacement.
Dr. Perry said in a Facebook post that she starts in her new position July 20.
