Butte College baseball team to host Delta Friday in NorCal Regional Playoffs

The Butte College baseball team played their way to a 29-7 regular season record and a first place finish in the Golden Valley Conference.

Now the Roadrunners turn their attention to the Northern California Regional playoffs.

Butte came away from the playoff seeding meeting as the No.8 seed. The Roadrunners will host #9 San Joaquin Delta (25-11) in a best-of-three series beginning Friday, May 6th at 2 p.m.

Butte has not played San Joaquin Delta this season.

The Roadrunners are led by a couple of stellar pitchers. Yreka's Tevin Cadola is 9-1 with a 1.93 ERA in 84 innings pitched and 86 strikeouts.

Taylor Greene is 8-2 with a 1.90 ERA in 85.1 innings pitched. Greene has fanned 65 batters.

On offense, the Roadrunners are paced by first baseman Marcus Wilhite. The Oroville High product leads the team in batting average (.377) and RBI's (31).

Infielder Jesse Morales in hitting .357 and outfielder Travis Anderson has a .331 batting average.
