Butte Co. Sheriff's deputy assaulted

Three people were arrested after a Butte County Sheriff's deputy was assaulted by three men and a pit bull. The deputy was attempting to arrest a man for public intoxication at a residence on 'B' Street in Oroville this morning around three.

The man.. identified as 21-year-old Kevin O'Reilly", of Oroville resisted arrest and that's when two of his roommates began punching and grabbing the deputy. One of the two roommates, identified as 67-year-old Bobby Clark of Oroville, then commanded his pit bull to attack the deputy. The deputy discharged his weapon, killing the pit bull and used his radio to call for back-up.

The deputy sustained injury to his hand, leg and head. O'Reilly, Bobby Clark and the second room mate, 53-year-old Jimmie Clark, were all arrested for 'assault and battery' on a peace officer and child endangerment, because of an infant in the home.

O'Reilly's bail was set at $ 93,000. Jimmy Clark's bail was set at $143,000. Bobby Clark's bail was set at $123,000.
