The Butte County Farm Bureau is teaming up with a local non-profit to help foster youth in the North State. The farm bureau made a donation to Butte County Independent Living today to help with its giving tree program. The drive will provide household supplies for foster teens between the ages of 16 and 18 that will soon be living on their own.
Butte County Farm Bureau Director Ryan Schohr says,"It really is unique when you go out to the giving tree at the mall and you see a Christmas wish list for kids that are asking for brooms, mops and things that we often times take for granted. So it's great for our organization as farmers to be able to give back."
If you'd like to donate you can go to the giving tree inside the Chico Mall. They will be collecting items until December 24th.
