District Attorney Mike Ramsey announced today that County Clerk and Recorder Candace Grubbs will not lose her job, but must pay a fine of $17.34 after an investigation about the misuse of an employee’s time.
It was discovered that within the last year, Grubbs had directed an employee to perform some personal work for her. It was calculated that the work was worth around $300 in wages and benefits, or 9.75 hours. It was also discovered that Grubbs had that same employee perform other personal work for her in other years, dating back to 2007.
Grubbs has served as clerk and recorder for 27 years.
