A Butte County judge ruled in favor of allowing an anti-fracking ban to go forward to the November ballot at a writ of mandate hearing Wednesday morning.
Butte County Superior Court Judge Robert Glusman said there were some technical defects to the initiative, but not enough to stop the process from moving forward. The initiative will now go before the Board of Supervisors on July 29 for final approval.
The petition was previously rejected because it failed to include the full text of the proposed measure, a mandatory enacting clause and did not have the title and summary written in 12 point or larger font.
