Getting books has never been easier thanks to Butte County Library and Oroville Friends of the Library.

Two Little Free Libraries have been installed in Oroville, one at the River Ben Park and the other at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Oroville. An additional Little Free Library has also been installed at Canyon Creek Roadhouse in Berry Creek at 9607 Oro-Quincy Highway.

The Little Free Libraries operate as a “take a book, return a book” where those taking from the mini libraries are asked to leave a previously read book that others can enjoy.

They join the nine other locations in Chico and Paradise.

The Butte County Library Little Free Libraries were built by Dallin Dimmitt to fulfill his Eagle Scout project for Boy Scout troop 184 in Chico. Dallin said he has a love of reading that he felt he could share by building Little Free Libraries for the Butte County Library to be scattered throughout Butte County.
