The Butte College baseball team played their way to a 23-13 regular season record and a second place finish in the Golden Valley Conference.

Now the Roadrunners turn their attention to the Northern California Regional playoffs.

Butte came away from the playoff seeding meeting as the 13th seed. They will hit the road to take on No. 4 seed Santa Rosa Junior College (26-10) in a best-of-three series beginning Friday, May 2nd.

Butte was originally given the 14th seed by the playoff committee, but in order to prevent a first-round match-up against GVC rival and third seeded Feather River, Butte manager Anthony Ferro requested the Roadrunners be flipped with No. 13 Folsom Lake.

Butte did not play Santa Rosa this season.

Ferro told our Ross Field that despite flipping seeds with Folsom Lake, the Roadrunners should still be considered the 14th seed.

Butte is led by first baseman Ryan Rodriguez who led the team in several offensive categories, including batting average (.423) and RBI's (43).

Anthony Roberts hit .419.
