Burney man assaulted, robbed

The Shasta County Sheriff's Officer says a Burney man has been assaulted with a club, and the robbed. Investigators say Friday around 4:00pm, a Native American or Hispanic male, entered a home at the 37,000 block of Superior Avenue. They say the suspect hit the victim, 54, with a club, then demanded his keys, The victim was able to get away and call 911. The suspect then took off on the victim's bicycle. Deputies are looking for a man with short brown hair, thin to medium build, between the ages of 20 to 30. The suspect also had many tattoos on his arms.

SUSPECT(S): Native American or Hispanic Male, 20-30 years old, Short Brown Hair, Thin to Medium Build, Numerous Tattoos on Arms, wearing a White Shirt and Blue Jeans.

SYNOPSIS: On Friday, 08/29/14, at approximately 04:10 P.M., Mark Marsden contacted the Sheriff's Office to report being assaulted by an unknown male. Deputies responded to the location and contacted Marsden.

Marsden reported the above described suspect male arrived at his residence, and struck him in the ribcage area with a club like instrument. The suspect then demanded the keys to Marsden's nearby vehicle. Marsden was able to retreat into his house and call 911. Marsden reported the male then stole a bicycle from his residence, and fled in an unknown direction.
The bicycle that was stolen is described as a new Nishika brand mountain bike, and white and blue in color. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Office at (530)245-6540.
