Burney Man Arrested for DUI, Nearly Hitting Police Vehicle

A man is behind bars this morning after Anderson police arrested him for suspicion of DUI after nearly hitting a police car.

Brandon Drenon, 30, of Burney was arrested just before eight last night after a physical disturbance in the area of Mill and Church streets.

When officers arrived at the scene, they saw Drenon driving away in a silver SUV, almost hitting a police car.

They caught up with Drenon and arrested him for suspicion of DUI

He refused to take a sobriety test.

He was taken to the Shasta county jail where he was officers used a Breathalyzer and confirmed he was three times over the legal blood alcohol limit.

Officers learned Drenon's license was suspended for a past DUI conviction.
