Tuesday's windy conditions were to blame for four control burns getting out control in Butte County. Cal Fire is warning people they must have permits to do any type of burn.
The permits are available at any Cal Fire Office and provide guidelines for those lighting the match. Burns are only supposed to be a 4x10 foot pile and can only be lit between 6 and 11 A.M. If any burn gets out of control property owners could face charges.
"It is also noted on their burn permits that they could be held liable for any control cost if the fire does escape their control lines." says Cal Fire Battalion Chief Garrett Sjolund
Current conditions are more dangerous than usual due to record dry winter.
