BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Temperatures reaching nearly 60 degrees would normally be a good thing for the Buffalo, New York area.

But forecasters are warning that some of the roughly 7 feet of snow that fell last week could melt, causing flooding.

Officials are telling local residents to clear their basements and get ready to possibly evacuate.

Yesterday, the National Guard cleared storm drains and culverts and shoveled snow off roofs that could collapse from heavier, wet snow.
