Chico Public Works is on scene of a sinkhole in Chico after they said a waterman busted and cause the ground collapse.
The damage occured near the intersection of West Seventh Street and Walnut Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
The current size of the sink hole is approximately two-feet by two-feet around and around four feet deep. There is no word on if whether the sink hole will continue to grow and how long it will take public works officials to contain the busted water main.
Firefighters are currently on scene as a precaution. Motorists and pedestrians are cautioned to avoid the area, if possible.
