Wednesday was a beautiful day around the North State. Thursday looks breezy and this weekend looks cooler and unsettled!
After a cool start to our day, Wednesday turned out beautifully around the North State. As a cool storm approaches us Thursday, north winds will get gusty ahead of it, gusting 10 to 25 mph as the clouds increase and our temperatures drop... but just a little. Friday will be cooler as the clouds block the sun and produce a few scattered showers, which will last into Saturday. The atmosphere will become unstable in the afternoon, so both days have a slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm in the Valley. This storm is from the Gulf of Alaska, so it's cooler than most storms we've seen this winter. Look for snow levels to start around 5000' on Friday, then drop to near 3500' by Saturday. This storm is moisture starved however... So we won't see much rain or snow from it. Some areas might even stay dry!
The sun returns on Sunday, but only for one day. Clouds return Monday, along with a very slight chance of a shower. Gusty north winds could return next Tuesday.
Overall, it's looking like a cool and unsettled finish to February!
